Fisher price recall sanitizing other toys that touched ones with lead?
How should i go about this...a tiny chip of paint is lead..so i need to clean the entire room and disinfect her toy bins and the other toys as well?? or am i just flippin out?
i might be just freaking out...i won't be able to sleep tonight now though
Disinfection will do nothing for lead removal.
What I'm understanding from this is that you had a toy with lead paint on it (and you became aware of it through the recall). Right?
Was the lead on the toy chipping or peeling off? If not, throw the toy away. I would take the precaution of washing the toys that came into contact with it under running tap water.
What you don't want to do is spread lead paint dust around. So you should dust everything with a damp cloth and vacuum with a HEPA filter vacuum cleaner.
In my opinion, you can never be too safe when it comes to lead and your kids. Lead can do serious damage. Also, you may want to get some lead test kits and see if anything else comes up lead.
