Why are there so many inappropirate dolls for kids?
Nowadays dolls such as Bratz and Barbie are setting bad examples. So why do we buy them for our kids?
I agree wholeheartedly. If people want to know why their little girls are becoming increasingly prone to anorexia and bulimia, all they need to do is look at the dolls and television shows who are supposed to serve as role models!
In her early days, Barbie was supposed to be a positive role model. When she debuted, she had more realistic (but still far from average) proportions, and she was featured in a variety of different careers. Now, she is a busty little tramp.
Bratz are even worse! Society is obsessed enough with bodily perfection and expensive fashion, without having to ingrain those ideas into girls at such a young age.
My suggestion: buy your little girl something else. Toys shape who we grow up to be!
