Hope for dolls is gone....?

And it makes me kind of sad. I grew up on barbies, and even though barbie has always been superficial, I didn't mind buying barbies for my daughter because out of all the new dolls (bratz etc), barbie seemed wear the least make up, and not have slutty clothes. The fact that they keep remaking barbie to compete with the other dolls, just seems to equal more make up, and less clothes.
What is wrong with people today thinking kids should look up to this kind of stuff?
I remember years ago how people would complain about how Barbie's body was all out of proportion.. Yet have you seen the size of a Bratz head in comparisson to its body? And the size of their feet? Its all crazy
I don't think its down to mattel, they need to make sales. But as you know, people are never happy unless they have something to cmplain about. Bratz wear ridiculous amounts of make up, they're all pop stars etc, Barbie was a vet, a nurse, an astronaught, a mother etc, I'd choose barbie anyday over bratz
Tiny Tears Dolls were vilified cause they pee'd and Tiny Tom/Tim? (cant remember the name) had a penis.
