How much do you think the first ever Barbie would be worth today?
The first ever Barbie was made in 1959 and cost $3.00. I was looking on eBay the other day and found one selling for over $500! I was pretty stunned! I would like to hear other people's opinions on this subject.
Katie... A LOT of people collect toys these days... especially popular toys like "Barbie", "G.I.Joe", or "Star Wars".
I'm surprised that the VERY FIRST Barbie wasn't going for even more money!! Of course, it all depends on the condition of the Barbie as well... (like if it was still unopened in the packaging, or not).
Did you know that some of the first Star Wars figures that came out back in the 70's are now selling for over $10,000 dollars a piece?? (That is if they are still unopened and in mint condition) Originally, those action figures cost about $1.99 at most stores. But, most of the people who bought them back then, opened them up and played with them... that's why UNOPENED ones go for so much money today (because there are so FEW unopened ones out there) and also because Star Wars has A LOT of fans. Obviously, a lot of those fans are rich and have a lot of money to spend on stuff like that...
